On January 18, 2018 WeMAR hosted several candidates running for public office at our first Candidate Training Academy.
This event was all day and we received many positive comments. We had an array of participants from Government Affairs Directors for other REALTOR® associations, campaign managers, to candidates running for the first time and those running for higher office. Local and State Legislative candidates participated.
Chris Sinclair and Alistair Macaulay from Cornerstone Solutions, LLC conducted the practical training. They discussed budgeting, finding volunteers, gathering signatures, social media marketing, campaign strategy, financing and getting out the vote.
Don Thoren and Kathleen Thoren provided an active learning experience as they trained participants on the care and management of the voice, constructing a speech, delivering a speech, and other tools participants could use to present their message with impact to any size audience.
WeMAR plans to offer this training again in 2020, so if you could not attend this time, plan on attending in January 2020.
