Legislative District 13 (LD13) has seen State Senator Montenegro resign to run for Congress and Representative Shooter be expelled from the State House of Representatives, all within about a month’s time.
In January, the Maricopa Board of Supervisors appointed Sine Kerr to be the new State Senator for LD 13. Senator Kerr is a Dairywoman and co-owner of Kerr Family Farms in Buckeye.
On February 12th the Yuma Board of Supervisors appointed Tim Dunn of Tim Dunn Farms in Yuma to be the new State Representative for LD13.
With two farmers newly appointed, it will be interesting to see the discussion surrounding water this legislative session.
LD13 covers Yuma, Wickenburg, parts of Buckeye and Goodyear.
