In August 2016 I was invited to present a webinar @AARSuccess on solar issues buyers should consider prior to purchasing a property with a leased or owned solar system. The webinar was hosted by the Arizona Association of REALTORS® (AAR). Attendees asked questions and gave input on their experiences in the field.
Whether leased or owned, there are questions and considerations buyers should think about before purchasing a property with solar. Buyers need to realize they are purchasing their own energy system and there are pros and cons far beyond the monthly utility bill.
Fortunately, 2015 and 2016 saw significant changes to Arizona State law enhancing consumer protections and the ability of prospective solar energy owners to know more about the system, its costs and property encumbrances.
