Elections in Douglas and Tempe, Lucid Motors, Luke Air Force Base and GAD events

Election March 10, 2020 – If you are a voter in Tempe or Douglas, your day at the polls is March 10th. Check your City Clerk’s website on voting locations and requirements.

In Tempe you can locate information on the tempe.gov website. You will have 2 candidates for Mayor on your ballot and 5 candidates for City Council running for 3 seats. This is an all-mail election. Democrats will receive two ballots; one for the March 10th City election and one for the March 17th Presidential Preference election.

The March 10th Douglas election is an all mail election as well. If you have not mailed your ballot by the designated date, then make sure you drop it off at a designated location.

On the March 10th ballot Douglas voters will see four candidates for Mayor, and two candidates each running for Ward 1, Ward 3 and Ward 5. You can locate a ward map at the City of Douglas website and find more election information on the Cochise County Elections website.

Douglas and all of Cochise County will have a March 17th Democrat only Presidential Preference election.

Douglas has revised its call for the primary election from May 15th to May 19th. Check the Douglasaz.gov website for more information.

Seila Law v. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, also known as the CFPB. This case centers around the structure of government as set up in the United States Constitution, versus the structure of the CFPB as demanded in the Dodd-Frank legislation. The question before the court is Whether the vesting of substantial executive authority in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, an independent agency led by a single director, violates the separation of powers.

You may read the petition Seila Law filed at the Supreme Court and read the transcript of oral arguments presented on March 3rd at www.weservgad.org, or check the Supreme Court website.
