Early voting ballets were sent out Jan. 31, 2018 to registered voters in CD 8. In order to have received a ballot by mail you will have to have been a registered voter, in the CD 8 District and be a declared Republican or Democrat.

The Primary Election for this district is February 27th, with the General Election on April 24, 2018.

There are 14 candidates running for this seat, 12 Republicans and 2 Democrats. Registered Independents must notify the Maricopa County Recorder of their ballot preference.

This is an important election to fill the seat in Congress left vacant when Trent Franks resigned in late 2017. The County estimates that in a district of 454,199 registered voters, less than 18,200 will vote.

Voters may vote in one of three ways:

  • Mail in their early ballot
  • Vote in person at one of the early voting sites
  • Vote in person at their assigned polling place or or one of the voting sites

The County has published an interactive voting site and district map. Sites include Surprise, Phoenix, Mesa, Goodyear and Glendale.

You may read information on each of the candidates at the Secretary of State’s website.

CD8 includes parts of Goodyear, Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, Wittmann, and North Phoenix
